It's may well not be an issue at all, if you consider that big blocks run 1.7 rockers, and their cam blanks are likely the same stuff as small block cams spec'd for 1.5 (from a hardness perspective, that is). I'd talk to the cam manufacturer,see what they say.

Roller cams are made out of billet for a reason, plus flat tappet cams are cut so that as the cam spins, it rotates the lifters in their bores and also provides some back thrust to keep the cam from "walking".
